radium

Radium. Radioaktivní prvek alkalických zemin kovů. To má atomové symbol Ra, atomové číslo 88 a atomová hmotnost 226. Radium je produkt rozpadu uranu a je přítomen ve všech uranine a rud obsahujících uran. Používá se klinicky jako zdroj beta a gama záření v radioterapii, zejména pro brachyterapii.
